Senior Care is a short-term geriatric behavioral health unit for the
diagnosis of patients who suffer from mental illness, Alzheimer's,
dementia, and depression. The average stay in the 10-bed unit is about
two weeks and involves the patient's family to help create an individualized plan of care. The main goal of the program is to reintegrate patients into the community or help them find the resources to enable a more productive life.
Mille Lacs Health System Senior Care is one of only eight similar care centers in Minnesota.
