Mille Lacs Area Health Foundation Gives Locally

Mille Lacs Area Health Foundation donated over $75,000 to assist with funding of many area health needs.

Here is a brief list of a few of the worthwhile organizations MLHS helps to support.

$24,000 committed to assist Home Care and Hospice Medicare Certification and annual expenses.

$1,500 donated to BRAML 2008 - as a co-sponsor of the annual Bike Ride Around Mille Lacs.

$5,800 donated to Mille Lacs County Defibrillator Donations.
A number of Mille Lacs County agencies and governments came together with the Mille Lacs Area Health Foundation (MLAHF) to equip all Mille Lacs County squad cars with defibrillators.

Sheriff Brent Lindgren said, “Undoubtedly this cooperative effort will save a life in the next year. Deputies are usually first to arrive on the scene of medicals, and with the proper life-saving equipment they will be able to take the necessary steps toward administering the AEDs (automated external defibrillators) in squad cars.
