Gifts of Cash

Gifts of cash are the most common ways to give and may be a check, cash or money order.

Memorial Gifts

Memorial giving is a way to honor a loved one or a friend and make a lasting tribute. Gifts may be made in memory or in honor of a loved one's birthday, anniversary, or holiday, such as Christmas, and Memorial Day.

Gifts of Securities

Gifts of stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or treasuries, can help you avoid capital gain.

Gifts of Real Estate

Real Estate gifts such as; homes, cabins, commercial buildings, farmland, lake lots and other property. You can deduct the fair market value of your gift, avoid all capital gains and remove that asset from your taxable estate. You can transfer the deed of your home or farm now and keep the right to use the property for your lifetime and that of your spouse.

Gifts of Life Insurance

Donors may name a charity owner and/or beneficiary of an existing or new policy or may purchase life insurance to replace the value of gifts to charity.

Gifts of Personal Property

A gift of personal property may include items such as a car, truck, boat, artwork or jewelry.

Wills

This is a wonderful option for people who are not able to give immediately, or for people who want to help make a difference for future generations. Gifts may be a certain dollar amount or a percentage. Gifts are fully deductible from an estate, providing reduced estate taxes. Consult your financial advisor for specific advice.

Endowments

If you want to provide permanent financial support for the programs and services of Mille Lacs Health System, consider an endowment. Establishing an endowment fund not only offers ongoing support for your charitable organization; it also provides tax benefits and a public memorial for the donor. Consult your financial advisor for specific advice.
